COOPERATING SCHOOL AWARD 2005

March 17, 2005

Mary Beth Petesch, Director of Field Experiences & Internships at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh College of Education and Human Services announced that Menasha’s Butte des Morts Elementary School has been chosen for the “Cooperating School Award for 2005” given each year to a school in the state of Wisconsin. The award is based upon the outstanding meritorious service and cooperation given from Bill Gillespie, Principal, the secretarial staff, and the exceptional teachers. Mary Beth stated, “The ongoing support of clinical, practicum, and student teacher programs along with the mentoring skills and professional caring staff at Butte des Morts Elementary School is greatly appreciated.”

Principal Bill Gillespie said this to the staff at Butte Des Morts about the award, “Congratulations on being chosen the 2004 Cooperating School of the Year by the University of Oshkosh. This truly is a very distinctive honor that says a lot about the value we place on mentorship and who we are as a place for learning. We will have 4 student teachers from UWO this next quarter. I believe this shows the dedication and importance you place on developing that next generation of quality teachers.”
