Brief
Bio:
I have extensive k-8 experience as
both a teacher and an administrator. My 24 years of
k-8 teaching have included work with Native American
contract tribal schools for Navajo and Northern Pueblo
youth. My teaching philosophy with undergraduate and
graduate students is firmly rooted in that experience
with emphasis on collaboration and problem-based learning.
The integration of technology and curriculum in k-12
classrooms provides the perfect fit for my k-8 background
and informs the classes I teach as well as my research
interests.
My current research focuses on an emerging three dimensional
model of interaction in on-line distant education
courses. Additionally, recent grant activities have
enabled me to pursue research in the use of problem-centered
learning with faculty development.
