Brief Bio:

I have two years teaching experience in the elementary school and thirteen years in middle/high schools for a total of fifteen years. Twelve of these years were in Canadian schools and three in Zimbabwe schools. Also, seven years of this experience was in private schools and the rest in public schools. In post-secondary teaching, I have over sixteen years of experience, five of which were in a teachers’ college in Zimbabwe. Most of my teaching experience involved mathematics.

My research interests have revolved primarily around misconceptions in mathematics, especially in the area of probability. I have published a number of papers on this topic. I have also researched and written on Cognitively Guided Instruction, the integration of literature and mathematics, and mathematics teaching in diverse cultures. My research has been conducted in Canada, Zimbabwe, and the USA.
