Brief Bio:

I am in my 11th year of teaching PK-12 special education, and I am certified LD PK-12. I have worked with middle school and high school students with LD, CD, ED, autism, TBI, and OHI (cancer). I serve as an LEA representative for my district (Cedar Grove-Belgium) and have assisted my district in preparing for on-site and off-site audits from DPI as well as with the annual special education plan that is submitted to DPI. I have been an ad hoc instructor for the special education department at UW Oshkosh since the fall of 2002 and was selected by students to receive the “Appreciated Professor” award in the fall of 2005.

I served as a research assistant in the Wisconsin Learning Disabilities Eligibility Criteria study, which examined Wisconsin’s compliance with federal eligibility criteria and led to the restitution of $52 million of federal special education flow-through funds. I co-wrote the final report submitted to DPI and OSEP, and co-developed the DPI-sponsored curriculum training that was disseminated to all districts in Wisconsin as a result of the study.
