Brief Bio:

Taught in numerous Elementary Schools in Appleton, WI at numerous grade levels: multi-age (grades 4, 5,6); single grades of 4, 5, 6; bi-level grades of 4/5, 5/6, and in summer school situations, primary and intermediate grades.
I enjoyed team teaching with many educators during my career and was a unit leader when being part of unit teaching.

As I look at myself as an educator, I was an innovative master teacher who maintained an optimistic attitude always advocating for all students. I attempted to do whatever I could to make learning the best for all students. I feel that I developed and maintained an excellent rapport with my students, parents, and all of the staff wherever I taught. I was the leader in extracurricular activities such as Safety Patrol, Drama Club, and Student Council. Also, I served as a representative from our school on the Parent Teacher’s Council, Appleton Education Association, and Partnership in Business for many years. I, also, served on numerous departmental committees for Appleton Public Schools i.e. revising the progress report, math, reading/language arts, and social studies. In many instances, I was part of the adoption of new texts. Lastly, I had the opportunity to work with many student teachers from various universities in WI as well.

I always kept current in the field of education:

  • taking college classes
  • school district classes in all areas such as technology
  • QIT
  • cooperative learning
  • classroom management
  • areas of guidance, etc.
  • belonging to groups as Phi Delta Kappa, Midwest Reading Council, etc.
