Brief Bio:

I feel extremely passionate about our profession. As a university instructor I make every effort to model the teaching strategies and behaviors that I want my students to use in their classrooms. I want them to emulate good teaching behavior, therefore I work diligently to present lessons implementing the effective teaching strategies that I am teaching them. My goal is to teach by example. I also try to model professional behavior by attending conferences, keeping current with research based strategies, listen to the needs of my students, and willingly assisting my students to reach their goals. My desires are to help them be the best teacher that they can become.
Summary of work experience:

I have had approximately 20 years of teaching experience at the university level. I have taught 2 years of 4th grade regular education. I have worked one year as a teaching/parent in a wonderful behavioral model for children with emotional/behavioral problems in Reno, Nevada. One year, I was a curriculum writer for a grant project in the state of Wisconsin for students with cognitive disabilities. Another year I worked for the Fond du Lac Public Library on two different grants. One was developing a volunteer program to take library books to the elderly and the other was to help the Hmong members of our community get acclimated to our society. I started one of the first classrooms for learning disabilities in the city of Oshkosh. I also returned to teaching in an LD classroom after taking time off to have my family. For ten years, I helped my husband build a large financial planning business that has placed him and our daughter in the top 100 advisors in the country. I feel that all of these experiences have enhanced my ability to be a better instructor at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
