Brief Bio:

In my P-12 experience, I taught kindergarten and grade three students, as well as 21 years as a Reading Resource Teacher for the Oshkosh Area School District. I provided inservice for the district as well as other districts in the Fox Valley. I provided presentations at our local reading council, Wisconsin State Reading Association Conferences and the International Reading Association Conference in San Francisco. I also served as facilitator for six years for the OASD's Partnernship for School Improvement, a community-based clearinghouse.

I have earned 57 credits beyond my master's degree, mainly in the area of reading education. I am presently serving on the NCATE Board of Examiners. I recently completed a five-year term on the Wisconsin Retirement System's Teachers' Retirement Board. I am currently working for UW-O as a site coordinator for a federal grant for Native American Teacher Candidates. I am Chairperson of the OASD SOAR Board, a regranting board that provides funding for artists' residencies. I also serve as membership chairman of the Oshkosh Education Association. Lastly, I work as an independent contractor for CESA #6 as a mentor to four schools in Wisconsin, assisting them with their EOCA (Early and Ongoing Collaboration and Assisstance) grants through the Special Education Department of Public Instruction.
