Bilingual Teachers, Counselors, Reading Specialists, Special Educators and Principals
Bilingual individuals who are interested in careers as teachers, counselors, reading specialists, special educators or principals can apply for funding through the ESTRELLA grant.
Content Area ESL Licensure
We provide course work towards an additional license in ESL for teachers who are already licensed in elementary education or K-12 content areas (science, math, social studies, English). Students can take these courses on weekends through the alternative licensure program. Grant funding is available for this additional licensure.
Family Education Programs
Project Estrella is committed to strengthening the relationships between immigrant and refugee families and the schools. Our family education programs have twin goals: to help parents and caregivers understand information and policies which the schools need them to know; and to support families and bicultural communities as they learn to advocate for themselves, and address their needs to schools and school districts. |
