Curriculum & Instructions Scholarship InformationDear Student, In this booklet you will find descriptions of all the scholarships that are offered through the Curriculum & Instruction Department. You are encouraged to apply for all scholarships for which you are eligible. A student can win more than one scholarship per academic year. Beginning this year, we will only be using one Scholarship Application Form. You will need to check all the scholarships you are applying for on this one application form. Along with the Scholarship Application Form you will need to submit a completed Scholarship Check list; an official transcript and a copy of your Star Report; Financial Aid Award Letter; and an outline of courses you need to complete in order to complete your program. At the back of the scholarship booklet is a general application form along with a checklist. You need only one copy of these. The format of the scholarship application packet will be 1) Scholarship Application Form and cover letter. In the cover letter, you are required to include the name of scholarship you are applying for, whey do you feel qualified for this scholarship; what are your personal and professional goals; how do you expect to enhance Wisconsin Education; how have you financed your education to this point and what financial needs are necessary to continue your education; other than course work, what activities will enhance your ability as a teacher and what contributions have you made to the University and/or Community; 2) Scholarship checklist, 3) current unofficial transcript or Star Report, 4) financial aid acceptance letter or a letter stating why you have not applied for federal or state grants and loans, 5) two letters of recommendation, and 6) outline of courses for program completion. Documentation must be complete and in the order given above or your application will be disqualified. The scholarship checklist should assist you in making sure that you have all the documentation necessary and in the order that it is required. Because some scholarships have different requirements (i.e., specific letters of recommendation, emphasis on different aspects of college/extra curricular life, please be sure to look over each individual scholarship's requirements and adjust materials accordingly. The application and documentation must be submitted to the Curriculum & Instruction Department by 4:00 p.m. on January 25, 2008, to qualify for the scholarships that will be funded for the following academic year. If your application and documentation is received after 4:00 p.m. on January 25, 2008, you will be denied without further explanation.
