Admission to Candidacy

Students must satisfy fully the Graduate School requirements for advancement to candidacy.  Students must be admitted to candidacy after having earned a minimum of nine but not more than 21 degree units (credits) (varies by program).  Admission to Candidacy requires a student to be in good standing, have completed all deficiencies and file an Application for Admission to Candidacy Form (formal plan of study).  Students must meet with Dr. Kathy Henn-Reinke, Graduate Program Coordinator. 

Students admitted after Fall 2005 in the Master's Program for the Curriculum and Instruction Department are required to take the core course of Elem Ed/Sec Ed 715 - Trends in Curriculum and Instruction: PI 34 Professional Development (2 credits) prior to taking 18 credits or Admission to Candidacy.
